Film Production: Soundtrack and Sound effect ideas
From my deconstructions i have found that there aren't really any consistent forms and conventions when it comes to thriller films, just similarities. For example, i have found out that many thriller soundtracks are slow and then pic up when some action happens on screen.
The sound track will be slow to go with some conventions i found within thriller films, however as there will be action in our film (the main character running), i have decided not to go with the convention of a faster pace soundtrack to go with the action because i feel that the sound track would be more impacting and climatic if the soundtrack didn't pic up. I have decided that to go with the action, i will use sound effects of Jennifer's heavy breathing, heart beat and footsteps that will increase as she gets more scared, reaching a climax when Jennifer gets shot. I have decided to set the scene at the beginning of the soundtrack by having a sound effect of tweeting birds.
When Jennifer get shot, i would like a slower, calmer piece of music that creates a huge effect on the audience as the music, Jennifer's heartbeat, panting, footsteps stop completely after the sound of the gun shot. The shot i waill use for this section of
I feel that this sound track will have an impact on my audience and clearly show what genre the film is but following some conventions of thriller films including: climax and anti climax to create tension and suspense between within my audience. This piece of music will be a slow track that is played on a piano.
I have chose to use non diegetic sounds because the sound picked up from the camera wasn't very good quality and the camera picked up extraneous sounds that were hard to seperate from the sounds that i did want to use when I was compiling my soundtracks and sound effects.
Also i have found that the sounds that i recorded when i was filming dont sound realistic enough and i have found other tracks online that i have decided to use instead.
I would also like to create an unnerving contrast between the tempos of my slow soundtracks that will be creepy and imitate the strange noises you hear in a forest and the fast tempo of Jennifer;s heartbeat footsteps and breathing.
Soundtrack ideas:
I would like to use these soundtracks from the royalty free site: freeplaymusic.com
My plan for sound is that the following tracks will be overlapped to create a thrilling and suspensefull sound track:
The following sound effect is the sound clip that i will use when jennifer dies:
Sound effect ideas:
I would like to use these sound effects from the royalty free site: freesound.org, 4shared.com and soundbible.com
Heartbeat: For the heartbeat sound effect I have chosen to use this sound effect from soundbible.com.

Gun shot: For the gunshot sound effect I have chosen to use a sound effect from soundbible.com.
Birdsong: I have found this track on the royalty free site; 4shared.com. I would like to use this track as the birds sound like they are singing in the morning (when my film is set) and the tones that are used are playful as well as quite thrilling.
Breathing: I have decided to use this soundeffect because it sounds as if Jennifer has been running for a long time and that she is very scared and exhausted.
